Jim Casselberry is co-founder and CEO of Known Holdings, a growth platform shifting ownership towards the new majority and the multi-trillion dollar economy it powers. Prior to Known, Jim was Chief Investment Officer at 4S Bay Partners. Jim has held senior roles at NexTier Companies, Dearborn Park Group, Trias Capital Management, Wedgewood Capital Management, and The John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation. He was a principal at Ennis Knupp and Associates, Inc., managing consulting assignments for some of the nation’s largest public pension funds, foundations, and endowments. Jim also served as the leader of Ennis Knupp’s Emerging Manager Advisory Council and was a member of the firm’s global equity research group, private equity research group, and fixed income advisory council. Jim has written several white papers, most recently “Why Not the Best? Capturing Alpha from a Long-Neglected Market.” He began his career at First Chicago Corporation and Arthur D. Little Valuation. Jim has been an adjunct Professor at Valparaiso University and the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago.
Jim serves on the boards of the Julian Grace Foundation and its investment committee; Arc Chicago; Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI); Mosaic Genius; and American Friends of Hebrew University; and is a Trustee of Morehouse College and the National Urban League. Jim holds a BS degree in economics from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
