Shirley has been with Ativo since 2014 and serves as the firm’s Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Finance. She oversees all aspects of Ativo’s accounting and financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliation, budgeting, financial statements, annual audit, and tax returns. In her role as Chief Compliance Officer, Shirley is responsible for the firm’s compliance program, including regulatory filings, policies and procedures, compliance monitoring, and regulatory examinations.
Shirley has more than 30 years of accounting and finance experience across the banking, investment, and education industries. She earned a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Xiamen University in China and a master’s degree in Accounting from the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1997 and earned the Certified Securities Compliance Professional (CSCP) credential in December 2023.
